We were in the desert way too long….so we found a way to get back to the beach. Took a few days to get some waves and sun. First stop… San Onofre State Beach.

There are a million reasons why this is our favorite beach. First because Brian grew up surfing here. Second, because this is the first place I went surfing where I was surprised by dolphins within arms length. Then it was the place we brought our kids to meet with friends for weekly bonfires. Now…it just feels like a 2nd home…literally…we brought our home on wheels this time.
It was a bit overcast while we stayed. Brian got to surf with some of his friends, while the kids and I found some crazy beach treasures.

Colorful crab legs….

Sea slugs…..

Anyone know what this is?? Either way, it’s super cool :).
My other favorite thing is that there are endless trails through bamboo for the kids to run around and get lost in. It’s like a wonderland of fun.

After a day at the beach, we took to the hills. Riley was excited to see HER friends (daddy’s friends). I weirdly didn’t take ANY photos of this ride….except this one. At the top of Aliso and Wood Canyons Regional Park before Rock-It.

Moved camp to Doheny State Beach for the day!

Every time we come here I find something new. This trip, we spent a bit more time on the lawn while dad caught some waves.
The walkway has a bunch of whales, all of different types and sizes, painted on the ground. The kids had fun pretending to ride them, trying to guess their names, and how long they were!

We spent a good chunk of time on the beach this trip. While Bri and I traded off surfing. I love that everyone party waves here. Any wave you catch, expect there to be at LEAST 3 other people on it, and nobody seems to get that miffed over it. Nice!

After we were worn out from the waves and sand we hit the showers and decided to explore.

Around the bathrooms are these really cool trees. The kids found out they were great for climbing. So we did it until sunset :).

We could stay here everyday….maybe we will!
