St. George Part II

May 21st

Back in St George Utah at our favorite bike trail…okay mine.  Bear Claw Poppy!!  Brian took an early morning ride while I took the kids for a hike.

Riley was the leader and found her very FIRST wild rabbit. She raced off like a little mountain goat after it and nearly caught up to it! This girl is FAST!

Our hike lasted a good 10 minutes before we needed a snack (it was 8 am….we had just had breakfast…oh boy!)  So we had it in a cave.  That will do!

Brian finished his ride and I decided to take my turn.  I don’t think I will EVER get sick of this trail.  Especially now!  My Ebike helps me keep my speed in the harder areas where I tend to hit my brakes…and shouldn’t.  There are so many twists and turns, this trail never gets boring.

Kids are exhausted after the last couple of days, so we took them to their first $1 movie!  We stopped to see Sherlock Gnomes.  If you knew our family, you’d know there is always a garden gnome close by.  Brian used to give one to his Mom every year, and since then, they just keep showing up as return gifts from every odd place! Needless to say, our kids get a kick out of garden gnomes, so this movie hit the bill.  For a 2 pm showing….we had the whole theater to ourselves.  YESS!! Kids run free!!!

With the day waning away we decided to try out the Kids Museum (thanks to a tip from friends!).  We showed up at 4 and they were closing at 5.  We thought we had plenty of time.

WE DIDN’T!  This place is HUGE and is a kids wonderland.

First stop, the kid size grocery store where they can be a checker or a shopper.

Then off to the aviation room.  Here they can run their luggage through a mini scanning machine.  Load luggage on the airplane. Fly the airplane….

Next to the mechanics shop.  There are instructions on how to change wheels, transmissions, oil change, and more.  All the parts are connected with velcro so they are easy for kids to work with.

Not to mention, dress up work shirts included.44933598384_d43ecfd261_o.jpg

There was a room teaching about farming.  You could plant crop, harvest it, and serve it up for dinner.  Milk a cow, collect eggs from the chickens, etc.

THEN you would go to the VET station to learn about the animals. There were little medic kits and x-ray machines for each animal!

But wait……there’s more (does this sound like an infomercial yet?)

Time to learn about the mailman and what he does.  Get some mail from the boxes and sort them in the mail slots!

This was all just on the first floor.  Not photographed is about 9 other themed rooms and more in the basement that include: dinosaurs, Broadway stage play, science, and more.

Okay…maybe you should check this place out when you drive through next time.  It’s only $5 per person and keeps kids entertained for HOURS!

  1. Have you guys started RV’ing towards the midwest or the great lakes region yet? I’ve enjoyed reading your recaps and seems like you’ve had a great journey!
